More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I am currently taking an Assistant Child Care and Teaching class through MATC and I will have my certification by June 11 2026. In this class I learn how to create meal plans, focus on child growth and development, as well as going to a day care facility and observing the children to learn about their day to day lives and how their teachers conduct class activities.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy spending time outside with children and teaching them about nature. Nature is one of my favorite places to be with children because you can teach children of all ages and be able to keep them interested. For example if I am with a child under the age of 3, we would talk about textures, colors, and sounds. For an older child we would talk about animals, bugs, and the ways that nature helps us live our daily lives. As you can see, I love teaching children and opening up new experiences to them. For me it is watching them process new information that is the most rewarding. I love that I am able to make a difference in a child’s life my teaching them new things.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is being able to teach your children how to navigate daily life. This includes things like handling big emotions in a healthy and appropriate way, it also means teaching children how to clean up after themselves, and learning to be respectful to themselves/others. These are things that I try my hardest to teach the children I am around, whether it is in a professional setting or a little cousin of mine. I highly value the importance of teaching children the best ways to communicate their emotions, struggles, and questions. I believe that teaching a child to use their voice to express their needs and emotions is one the most important things you can teach them. I have taught my students to do this and I have seen real positive results in the way that they interact with their peers and with me.

My experience with special needs children...

During my time working as an after care provider for the Cudahy Rec Department, I was put in charge of about 20-25 children daily, two of those children being special needs. I have worked with children that are nonverbal and autistic. I have had the privilege of being able to work with them and guide them through daily activities just as any other student of mine would. I am blessed to have a great amount of patience and compassion for children who have special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment as an aftercare provider was seeing one of my nonverbal students interacting and playing with the other students in the classroom. In that moment I felt so incredibly proud and blessed to have witnessed such a wholesome moment. That moment is one of the many reasons that I love to work with children and help them grow more and more every day.
