love spending time with kids whether it's playing or dancing together. They remind me of my little cousins whom I've watched grow from tiny tots to energetic youngsters, one was just 11 months old when we had to part ways and the other is now 6 years old. Being around kids brings back fond memories of my time with my little brothers and I cherish those moments.
My experience with special needs children...
Last year, I had the privilege of caring for a child with autism and it was a great experience. Working with him not only taught me valuable skills but also showed me the importance of patience, understanding, and personalized care. One of the highlights was helping him develop better eating habits. Initially, he would place his snacks on the floor and eat from there but I gently encouraged him to use a clean plastic sheet instead. Over time, he adapted to this new habit and it was amazing to see the progress. I also worked with him on his social skills such as waving goodbye or hello. At first, he would wave with his palm facing inward but through consistent practice, he learned to wave with his palm facing outward. Moments like these reminded me of the impact we can have on a child's life with dedication and the right approach. This experience deepened my passion for working with children, especially those with special needs and I'm excited to bring these lessons to my future roles.
