A little bit about me

I am an experienced nanny, mother, and long-time preschool teacher with a masters degree in early child and family development. I have a passion for play-based education, early literacy, and giving children a curiosity and joy for the world around them!

After owning and operating my own preschool for over ten years, my family relocated to Wheaton this summer. As my own children are leaving home, I am looking to invest in caring and working alongside a young family!

If you are looking for a professional caregiver who will play and teach your young children, take them to parks and on outings, and engage them in conversations about their own interests, please reach out! More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

-Preschool Teacher for over 10years.
-Substitute K-12 teacher.
-Nanny for two families (one with 3 children and one with 2 children).
-Infant caregiver for one year.
-Mother of 4 (ages 12-20)

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Outdoor play, crafts, literacy learning and reading books, building Lego and trains, and trips to the library to research and expand children’s knowledge about what they’re passionate about.
As I did with my own children, I enjoy expanding children’s knowledge and love for the world around them through vibrant discussions (no matter how young they are!) One of the indicators of a child’s future success is how many words they hear by the age of 5. I love encouraging language production and curiosity and fostering a child’s interests - whether that’s construction trucks, horses, dinosaurs, or princesses!

My experience with special needs children...

The preschool I operated was an inclusive and diverse environment. I have cared for children with T1 diabetes, Sotos Syndrome, autism, selective mutism, and severe speech and language delays.
