One of my favorite experiences working with kids was during my time as a camp counselor. I had a few campers who were very homesick and missed their parents a lot. I helped them work through those feelings by reminding them that missing their parents just shows how loved they are, while also encouraging them to give camp a chance. By the end of the week, they were laughing, making friends, and having an amazing time. Moments like that remind me how much I enjoy helping kids feel safe, supported, and confident in new situations.
