I am currently starting to work in elementary schools as part of my education in school as well as I am babysitting a two year old boy every weekend or so. I have in the past worked with babies as well as older kids ages 10+.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to try to think of new ideas and things that really make their brains work while also having fun. It is all about their age but I usually try to get body movement involved as well.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Giving each child the attention, love, and care they deserve. I always want my top priority as positivly impacting every family I work with. Not just the kids but the parents as well. I understand how hard parents work and I want to be there to lighten the load in anyway I can.
My experience with special needs children...
I personally am nerodivergent so I find as though I have a better sense of being able to empathise with children with other learning/mental and physical diabilities. I also have worked with a few kids in the schools I have assisted in at college with kids with Autism.
The most important part about being a nanny...
While, I have never been an offical nanny, my favorite baby sitting moment was when the 2 year old I currently babysit in chicago ran up to the door as I was coming in and said, "Tessa my best friend!" and hugged me. Before me he would act really shy around people who came into his house since it is just his mom and him so it felt so rewarding to have the little guy care so much about me.
