Preschool job(s), YMCA, volunteer work in Japan with children who played sports, nanny jobs over the years (live-in and live-out), and help care for children at the four seasons kids club on an as need basis. All ages ranging from newborns to age 13.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Park and outside activities such as playing ball, hula hoops, water play, soccer, going for walks, etc. in door play activities such as drawing, painting, using different materials to make a masterpiece on paper, bubbles, play-doh, slime, blocks, playing with toy animals, etc.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being a nanny means not to only provided care for children and to make sure they’re safe at all times, but to help them grow developmentally. It’s about having fun with them and enjoying the experience. Making the children feel valued, understood, and happy.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked with a few children who were autistic(special needs), a few nonverbal children, and a child who was in a wheelchair.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Working in a preschool class there was this boy, aged 2 who is nonverbal and autistic. I was very new to him, so at first he’d never come to me and only stare at me. But one day, he ran up to me and lifted his hands for me to pick him up and I did and he gave me the biggest hug. It put the biggest smile on my face. And every time he saw me after that, he would always just be happy to see me and run up to me. It was the best feeling <3
