More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
For five years I served as a Resource Adoptive Foster Family (RAFFT) through Spotsylvania's Department of Social Services, fostering medically fragile infants. Earlier in my career I worked as an occupational therapist providing early intervention to children from birth to age three, supporting their sensory integration, motor development, and functional growth. Most recently I co-founded Heritage Christian Academy, where I've worked directly with students and families in an academic and counseling capacity.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love engaging children in ways that support their development — sensory play, movement-based activities, and hands-on learning. My background in occupational therapy and child development means I naturally weave developmental goals into everyday fun, whether that's creative play, outdoor exploration, or age-appropriate activities that build confidence and skills.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is being a safe, consistent, and nurturing presence that a child can truly rely on. Children thrive when they feel seen and secure. My clinical background has shown me again and again that the quality of early relationships shapes everything - and a great nanny has the privilege of being one of those foundational relationships in a child's life.
My experience with special needs children...
This is at the heart of my professional life. As a NICU nurse at Mary Washington Hospital, I cared for premature and critically ill newborns, coordinating with neonatologists, therapists, and social workers to provide comprehensive care. As an occupational therapist, I provided early intervention for children with developmental challenges. As a foster parent, I cared specifically for medically fragile and abused infants. I'm trained in trauma-informed, neurodevelopmental, and sensory integration approaches, and I have deep experience supporting both the children and the families navigating these challenges.
The most important part about being a nanny...
As a foster parent, we cared for a little boy who came to us as a newborn, fragile and vulnerable, and stayed with us for over a year.. When he was united with his grandmother, she had witnessed enough of our family's warmth and love wrap around him that she asked us to be his godparents. That moment was a life highlight!
