A little bit about me

Hello! I have been working with children for over 20 years and raising two of my own for 14 years. CPR/AED/Lifesaver and First Aid Cert. I have a minor in Psychology and Early Childhood Devt. and a major in Elem Ed. Although being educated in the field helps, I continue to learn daily through hands on experience. I think of myself as an extension of the parents. Chores (laundry, dishes, and many more as I also clean and tutor on the side). I take initiative as long as you approve. I am very reliable and patient. I also highly believe in starting education and incorporating it into part of my daily schedule with all children. Just reading a book to a NB, tummy time, STEM activities, etc. Im a Native of PBC, and reside in PBG. High energy, super friendly, and love the outdoors. My maternal instincts and passion for children have led me to pursue a fulfilling career path that allows me to serve families and children.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Since the age of 11 I have babysat family, and close neighbors young children. Teaching private tutoring lessons, as well as homeschooling groups of kids has helped in understanding how each child is unique and different.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Arts and Crafts, puzzles, coloring, painting. Inside and outside STEM activities, educating through fun and engaging/developmental activities.
Storytime ALWAYS. Long walks, outdoor beaches and pools (we do live in Florida) for children who are able to swim. Anything to do with sports and dance too!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Communication of needs/wants from both family and caretaker so that everyone knows what is expected of them, and what's going on with the children. As ALWAYS SAFETY IS also at the top of the list. Never be unprepared.

My experience with special needs children...

I've worked with a variety of different special needs children ages 2- 10. I'm ASL certified, I have training in education with ESE students, and I've worked with language/speech disabilities, as well as some loss of body functions due to brain injuries. I've never had an issue being able to learn the individual needs and requirements as long as communication is thorough.
