A little bit about me

I am a mother of 3 adult children and a Godmother of 4 smaller children who reside in Georgia now. I met their mother when she was 16 with her first child. Her baby was attached to me the first day that she met me and she didn't know how to get her to not cry. The baby stopped crying with me and she asked me to be her Godmother that day when she came to my Church. I also have almost 40plus years of medical industry background as well as childcare. I love Children and they seem to always respond to me when they see me with smiles, love, and closeness. I am also in the ministry and have been my entire life. I also come from a huge family where I cooked, cleaned, and took care of both of my deceased parents before they passed away.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Nursing, daycare, lead teacher and assistant teacher, in-home daycare, private home babysitting with and for preemies 0-3 years old. I was also a Sunday school teacher for toddlers

I’m able to feed them, sing and talk to them, change their diapers as well as bathe them and put them to sleep at their appointed nap times and bed times

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me, the most important part is making sure that the parents know that their babies are going to be safe and secure as they work hard to provide for their families. I know what it is to work as a mother of 3 and want to make sure that they are being taken care of so I can provide. I'll give you a little backstory.
I was a SIC (Supervisor in Charge) at an Assisted Living facility and left my children with one of my neighbors thinking that she was going to take care of them both because she had her own children. I got a phone call at work telling me that one of them was walking outside in the cold with no shoes on and just a diaper while she was asleep in her apartment. I had to rush home in the middle of passing out meds to get my children to safety. That was a horrible, terrifying phone call and after that, I made sure that no one who was Not responsible would ever have my babies again.

My experience with special needs children...

Down syndrome & Autism I also know how to help children who are having problems with learning slower than others and teaching them how to talk at early ages.

The most important part about being a nanny...

When infants see me they begin to make little noises as if they are trying to speak and the parents get a kick out of seeing it and hearing them for the first time since their birth. My 1st and 3rd Godchildren began trying to speak when they were almost 6 weeks old. When their mother picked them up from my house she said Oh my goodness, what did you do? They are trying to talk already!:):)
