A little bit about me

Hi all! My name is Tracy. I was born and raised in the Syracuse area. I left to attend college in Arkansas and have lived down here since. As I've gotten older, the importance of being closer to family has weighed heavy on me. I'm preparing to move back to New York in the coming months and am looking to begin nannying again. It was always my favorite job, and I'm so excited at the prospect of being able to jump into it again. I’d love to get to know you and share more about my experience and also my desire to work with families in this role!

Important piece of information; my timeline for moving back to New York is flexible. So, if we end up really hitting it off and a job becomes available, it will not be incredibly difficult to move by a specific date.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’m a former Elementary Teacher of 10 years who is currently working as a Child & Family Advocate. Previous to those jobs I worked in a daycare with toddler age kiddos and then was a nanny for a family with a newborn. I have been around children my entire life and have a range of experience with all ages of children!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to fall into whatever routine a child is already accustomed to. But if I'm creating a routine, I would love to include outside time, craft time, independent play and honestly just a multitude of many other things!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I truly believe the most important part of being a nanny is just remembering that you're spending time with a little human and that it's a privilege to do the work to help their family raise them. All kids are so unique and learning what makes them each their own person is a gift.

My experience with special needs children...

I've volunteered a few summers at a special needs camp in Missouri called Camp Barnabas. That job of course did not teach me all of the layered care special needs children require, but it did expose me to a number of children with a huge array of special needs and allowed me to find ways to best care for them individually.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My specific nannying experience comes from working with a family of a newborn. She was their first little one and just getting to walk with them through all of the new with her was so fun. I really loved the way I became an addition to the family in a way!
