More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
In college, I regularly cared for two families. One had six children ranging from a newborn to 12 years old, and the other had a newborn and a 3-year-old. In addition to my nannying experience, I have extensive experience supporting my sister, who has Down syndrome and autism, and volunteering with groups of special-needs children. These experiences have given me confidence caring for children of different ages, personalities, and support needs.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love creating fun, engaging experiences that balance creativity, learning, and outdoor play. Some of my favorite activities include cooking and baking, arts and crafts, reading, music, imaginative play, and age-appropriate learning activities. I also enjoy getting kids outside and active through trips to the beach, zoo, parks, playgrounds, nature walks, and hikes. My goal is to keep children engaged, curious, and having fun while creating meaningful memories.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, supportive environment where children feel valued, encouraged, and free to be themselves. I believe the best caregivers become trusted partners to parents while helping children learn, grow, and have fun.
My experience with special needs children...
My sister has Down syndrome and autism, and I have been actively involved in her care throughout her life. I help support her at home, school, work, and camp, and I am included in her IEP planning. I've also volunteered at special-needs camps, supervising groups of up to 10 children. These experiences have taught me patience, adaptability, strong communication skills, and the importance of meeting each child where they are.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite parts of nannying was watching children gain confidence in themselves—whether that was taking their first steps, learning something new, or accomplishing a goal they were proud of. Being a trusted part of those milestones is incredibly rewarding.

Hi! My name is Valeria Santiago-Rojas , and I’ve been working in early childhood education for the past three years.
As a teacher, I was responsible for maintaining classroom cleanliness, creating and implementing lesson plans, communicating effectively with parents, and supporting each child’s individual needs. I take pride in helping children build a strong foundation for learning—whether that’s through play-based activities, early literacy, or social-emotional growth.
I’m now excited to bring my passion and experience into the nanny field, where I can provide personalized care and support for families. My goal as a nanny is to create a warm, structured, and fun environment that helps children thrive both at home and beyond.
I am currently an Education Science major with the University of Florida online program and will have a concentration in Early Childhood Education by the time I graduate. I am CPR, AED, and Safe Sleep certified.

I love working with families :). I was a freelance nanny in California, Florida for at least 20 years. I’ve worked with children as a volunteer teacher’s aide to my mom for 30 yrs (my mom was a teacher for 50yrs). I have worked with individuals who have varying abilities (children and adult age) for 5yrs. I still keep in contact with the families I worked for 20 years ago :). I have all kinds of games, books, activities and musical instruments. I’ve traveled with several families on their vacations. People who know me describe me as a patient, calm, and compassionate person. I look forward to meeting you :).
