I think it is very important to not only pay attention to what the parents may ask but also what the child is asking/needing because sometimes people don’t understand that all they want is someone to really listen not just with their ears but their heart and its very simple i think.

My brother has high functioning autism but I still help him to this day and my cousin is special needs he is paralyzed and we have a caregiver for him now but before I would help my grandparents whenever I would come and stay for a weeks at time with him.

My recent experience was a little boy i am actually neighbors with, his name is Lincoln and he’s such a nerd on reptiles and amphibians like me. We spent the whole afternoon in our neighborhood looking for frogs and lizards we started to experiment to see if we took chalk and drew circles on the sidewalk if the frogs would cross the boundaries or not. Lincoln was just so fascinated by how many we found and he even started finding flowers for me it was so sweet!
