When being a nanny you become a vital part in these children’s lives. So the way I engage with them is very important to me crating a connection with these children that make life a little sweeter and ensuring they feel cared for and heard is the most important part for me.

My experience with special needs children...

While I was in school I worked in the special education program. Our goal was to create a comfortable learning environment for the students while not letting any of the kids feel less than the neurotypical students. I also have many neurodivergent family members.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I worked for a family whose kids had a severe anxious attachment to their parents. It was beautiful to help be the reason they grew through that. Everyday went from crying and screaming for mom and dad to experiencing and exploring, and enjoying the times that their parents were away rather than not.
