Hi! My name is Vanesa Martin. I am a caring, responsible, and patient childcare provider with 2+ years of experience working with children from TK to 5th grade in an after-school program. I am bilingual (Spanish & English) and CPR/First Aid certified. I am also capable of helping children with homework, school activities, and daily routines while creating a fun, safe, and welcoming environment. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have over 2 years of experience working in an elementary school before- and after-school program with students from TK through 5th grade. During this time, I helped supervise and care for children, assisted with homework and schoolwork, organized fun and age-appropriate activities, and provided a safe and welcoming environment. I enjoy building positive relationships with children, being someone they can trust and feel comfortable around, and supporting them both academically and personally. This experience has helped me develop strong communication, patience, responsibility, and childcare skills while working with children of different ages and personalities.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing a variety of fun, creative, and age-appropriate activities with children. Some of my favorites include arts and crafts, coloring, drawing, board games, outdoor play, reading, helping with homework, and fun educational games. I also enjoy organizing group activities where children can work together, use their creativity, and make new friends. Most importantly, I like making sure children are having fun while also learning, staying active, and feeling comfortable and included.

My experience with special needs children...

I have 2 years of experience working with students with different needs, including children with ADHD, behavioral challenges, and educational development needs. During this time, I provided individualized support, helped students stay focused and engaged, assisted with schoolwork, and encouraged positive behavior and social skills. I learned the importance of patience, understanding, consistency, and adapting activities to meet each child’s individual needs. My goal is always to create a supportive and positive environment where every child feels comfortable, respected, and encouraged to succeed.
