A little bit about me

I’m an aspiring career nanny who's spent the last 9 years working with the youth; I obtained my Bachelor's in Psychology with Honors from Cal State Northridge and further went on to graduate with my Master's degree in School Counseling in 2023! I have been a teacher, support counselor, and a school counselor for children 6-18 years old, in the school and home setting (not including my time as a nanny!). Recently as an elementary school counselor I focused on strengthening students' social-emotional, behavioral, and academic skills. I am very warm and bubbly and love to get children engaged through finding out what they love doing and are interested in. Specifically I love all things nature and art so I enjoy implementing that in my time with children. I would describe herself as a ray of sunshine, a patient and effective communicator, reliable and organized, and compassionate individual!

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a full time long term substitute for 3 years so my assignments included:
1st grade teacher. 7th/8th grade PE Coach. 9th grade English teacher. 10th grade engineering course.

I was also a support counselor for children in foster care.

Anything arts and crafts, painting, walks, hikes, swimming, pretend play, puzzles, games.

The most important part about being a nanny...

is not taking for granted the opportunity it is, that a family chose you to be their nanny. That is a huge choice and it is up to us as nannies to live up to that. I think the most important part is to genuinely grow with the family. To be present and share beautiful memories and milestones for one another. To ensure we are doing what we can for the family to thrive in multiple aspects.

The most important part about being a nanny...

It was summer and I let the twins dress me up and do my hair and make-up. We then went outside to have a water party and everyone was so happy. Music was playing, the twins were running around trying to wet me but my makeover was falling a part. The kids couldn't stop laughing and saying how the best thing their mom did for them was hire me as their nanny but because their mom actually hired their "best friend". Heart was full.
