A little bit about me

I’m as sweet and gentle as a package of fun and joy can get! I may not have “paid experience” with children, but I have spent the majority of my life being a caretaker in one capacity or another. There is nothing more satisfying than bringing joy into people’s life, regardless of their age. I currently work with the elderly that have been diagnosed with dementia. In this job it has taught me how precious life truly is and that being patient/understanding is just as important as being outgoing/adventurous. Having the ability to adapt my mindset to where a person is at in the moment creates a special bond that I cherish deeply.
I also have an older sister who is diagnosed with diabetes and epilepsy. Being a younger sister who tends to the older sisters needs has been a blessing in disguise. I grew up putting her needs/wants before mine and always doing my best to make sure she knew she was loved, and never felt left out.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I don’t have one particular activity that I enjoy. With that said, being outside seems to be a big hit with children regardless of the activity. In all honesty there are soo many fun things to do, crafts, baking, science experiments, singing and dancing, going on scavenger hunts, dollar store outings, reading/making up stories! As long as it’s safe and something the child is willing to try/do I give it a go and see where the adventure takes us.

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me being a nanny is more than taking care of a child. Being a nanny means being able to meet the child where he/she is at and help them see themselves in the best way possible. Many children just need to be reminded that they are enough, they don’t have to prove themselves they just have to be themselves. It’s important to me that as the child’s nanny I am able to help them establish who they are and for them to love who they see in the mirror.
