A little bit about me

I love children more than anything! I've been working with kids ages 2-8 for the past five years, and I don't plan on doing anything else for some time. Spending time with children fills my heart with absolute joy. I've been every type of counselor, babysitter, and daycare worker you can imagine for a 19 year old. I have also been in the medical program since 6th grade, and I plan on going to medical school soon enough, so even though my First Aid and CPR certifications expired at the beginning of this year, I do plan on getting them renewed as soon as COVID guidelines say it is safe. I would do anything to make your kids smile, yet know that respect is earned and listening skills are very important. I'm also more than happy to help with any homework questions you may have, as I am experienced in helping elementary children figure out complex problems from my aftercare days :-)

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

During the summer of 2019, I was the main counselor for a group of children entering kindergarten, some of them still 4 years old. I was responsible for leading activities, getting them to and from places in an orderly fashion, helping with swim lessons in the morning, organizing free time, snack time, and play time. It was the most rewarding experience I've had, and solidified my love that I have for children. I was with these children from 7:30 in the morning until 4:30 in the afternoon every Monday through Wednesday, for ten weeks out of the summer.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoors, I like dancing, reading, watching movies, playing board games, making crafts, and overall interacting with the kid(s) in any way they please. Outside, I'm open to anything physically demanding, including running, playing on playgrounds, swimming, riding bikes, scooters, rollerblades or skates, or even practicing gymnastics with smaller children, as I have slight experience in spotting and helping little kids improve their flexibility.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being reliable, responsible, and overall enthusiastic with the kid(s). To me, being a nanny or babysitter is about letting the kid(s) be themselves in a safe and respectful way. Being a caregiver to me is a way to have a positive impact in the child's life, not making our time together a countdown until the parents get home, but rather enjoying our time together and looking forward to the next time we see each other.
