Arts and crafts, swimming, going to the park, going to museums, anything that allows the child to be active, both physically and imaginatively. My goals are to keep the kids off their devices, make them use their imagination, and educate them, especially when they don't realize the fun things they're doing is educational.

Being accepted by the child. When you go to someone's home, you wouldn't just barge in, you wait to be accepted into their home. I want the child to accept me into their home and feel welcome when with me.

One of the girls I nanny, Tatumn, was going through a phase where she would talk like the characters in her cartoons, and end almost every sentence with, "anyway..." Well, one day while making lunch she was telling me a story about her show, she then says, "anyway....can i have some waaaaater." Dragging the "a" in water out in a sing-songy tone like the characters on her show do.
