More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Relevant experience where I cared for children the most was frequent babysitting throughout the week or on the weekends for date nights & various families. I was expected to come to the family's house & watch the kids for 6-8 hours as well as get the kids into bed by a certain time. Whenever I had a free moment, I would do light cleaning, food prep & set up crafts for the kids. I was never asked to do anything other than, but I genuinely love making things easier for the parents! I was also a camp counselor at my little brother's middle school for the summer for one year. I worked with ages ranging from 11-14. As a counselor, my job was to supervise kids as they play & during lunch, ensuring their safety, contributing to their development & growth, plan and lead activities for the kids that led to their skill development.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor: Coloring books, puzzles, bubble art, movies & snacks, flash cards, paper crafts, etc.

Outdoor: Chalk coloring/painting, science experiments, bike riding, wand bubbles, nature crafts, kinetic sand, etc

I try to think outside of the box when it comes to activities I do with kids, I also look up new things to try but most importantly I make sure they're 1000% safe!

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters the most to me about being a nanny is the lifelong connections with the families. I love being a big apart of children's lives and allowing myself to be a positive role model or someone they can depend on as they get older. I love growing great, strong connections outside of family & friends.

My experience with special needs children...

I cared for a toddler (5 yr old) who had mild autism. She was quiet at first but over time became extremely comfortable with me. She would have her days when she needed a moment by herself, especially when things didn't go her way. I always approached her in a calm and communicative manner, letting her know that she could talk to me about how she feels. This created a safe space for her, & in return she would be very vocal with me no matter what it was. We also understood each other and that helped us bond.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is always when the kids make it known that they're excited to see me, and I discover things they like that we can enjoy together!!
