Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I currently work part time at an after school program with ages 4-7! I have been doing part time sitting and mainly weekend help since 2021. Outside of paid work, my mom ran a daycare for the majority of my life so I have lots of experience from helping her aswell as babysitting for friends and family members.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I'm great at coming up with new games to keep kids entertained as well as learning their favorites. I've always enjoyed reading for children and can do character voices and make the story come to life! I love making a game out of pretty much anything
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part about being a care taker of any kind would be being a positive influence in families lives. Being there to help, listen and safely create fun and joy for the few hours that im there is very important to me, along with being able to give hard working parents a much needed and deserved break
My experience with special needs children...
My cousin has down syndrome and my experience caring for her is whenever she spends the night at my home. She loves trying my food and keeping me company in the kitchen. We dance and laugh and overall have a great time. She can be challenging at times but nothing I've never been able to manage. Every child is different but I am very adaptive and ready for any challenges that may arise.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite moments has to be while caring for a 10month old I gave her toy elephant a voice and funny personality and had him introduce himself as EL the elephant. After playing like that for only about 10 minutes, she began trying to pronounce elephant by saying and mouthing “phant, phant”. It was so beautiful and rewarding to see
