Relevant experience where I also cared for children includes nannying for close family members and assisting at my family’s daycare in California. Through these experiences, I helped supervise children, keep them engaged with activities, maintain a safe and positive environment, and support daily routines. My background in FEMA Corps and AmeriCorps also strengthened my responsibility, patience, communication, and ability to stay calm and dependable in fast-paced situations.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Activities I enjoy doing with children include arts and crafts, outdoor play, movie nights, reading stories, baking simple treats together, music and dance activities, and creative games that keep kids engaged and having fun. I also enjoy helping with homework, encouraging imagination, and creating a positive, supportive environment where children feel comfortable, safe, and excited to learn new things.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and stable environment where children feel secure and supported. It’s about being patient, reliable, and attentive to each child’s needs while also encouraging their growth, confidence, and independence. A great nanny builds trust with both the children and the family, communicates openly, and provides consistent care that helps children feel happy, understood, and valued.
My experience with special needs children...
My experience with special needs children has helped me become more patient, understanding, and attentive to individual needs. I understand the importance of creating a calm, supportive, and safe environment where every child feels comfortable and encouraged. I am adaptable, a good listener, and committed to learning each child’s unique routines, communication styles, and strengths so I can provide the best care and support possible.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was watching a child I cared for gain confidence in something they once struggled with. After spending time practicing together, seeing their excitement and pride when they finally got it right was really special. It reminded me how meaningful patience, encouragement, and consistency can be in a child’s growth. Moments like that are what make me love working with children and supporting their development.
