Part-Time Nanny Wanted – Starting Around Mid August

Hi everyone!
We’re looking for a part-time nanny to help care for our newborn, who is expected to arrive at the end of July/early August. This would start as a full-time position since we are first time parents and could use all the guidance and help we can get, but it will end up being part time after the first month or two. We are hoping to find someone flexible and reliable since the schedule may vary depending on our work commitments.

We’re based in the Tustin/Irvine area and would love to find someone nearby who has hands-on experience with newborns and has a warm, calm presence.

Ideal Start Date: Early to mid August (with some flexibility for the right person)
Schedule: Part-time, flexible hours; will vary week-to-week
Pay: Competitive and based on experience

Required Qualifications We’re Looking For:
Experience caring for newborns and infants
Infant CPR and First Aid certified
Up-to-date on vaccinations (including Tdap, flu, and COVID)
Comfortable with a variable schedule
Reliable transportation
Willing to undergo an extensive background check
Strong communication skills
Gentle, nurturing, and patient demeanor
Non-smoker
Caregiver or their partner cannot work around chemicals

Nice-to-Haves:
Background in early childhood development or education
Willing to do light baby-related housework (bottles, baby laundry, etc.)
Familiarity with sleep routines, swaddling, and soothing techniques
Okay with occasional evening or weekend hours if needed

-Min 3 years toddler care experience (potty training, hands-on activities)
-Open communication and willingness to align with our parenting approach
-Fosters resiliency and curiosity for learning

Preferred Qualifications
-Daycare or early education experience (NAEYC, Montessori, or similar)
-Bilingual, Mandarin preferred, willing to converse with our child throughout the day
-Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
-First Aid certified

Our Approach
-Montessori-influenced redirection; calm, patient handling of tantrums
-Minimal to no screen time; music is welcome
-Mix of free play, structured activities, and park visits

What We Offer
-Weekly pay
-Paid 2-day trial period before final offer
-Mileage reimbursement or use of family vehicle (tbd)
-Annual review, baseline 3-5% raise, negotiable with added responsibilities
