--son, 6 years old, is on the Autism spectrum with suspected ADHD. He is an incredibly affectionate and social boy who thrives on connection. He is highly energetic and sensory-seeking, requiring a caregiver who can provide consistent, loving boundaries and engage in active play.
--R, 4 years old, is a bright and spirited daughter who enjoys imaginative play.
Parental Roles: I am a stay-at-home mom with some ongoing health struggles seeking additional support in the afternoon after school to ensure our children's well-being and development. My husband works as a full time software engineer.
We are looking for an experienced part time nanny with the potential to move to full time work if the fit is right! We need a candidate with experience in autism, as P has level 3 autism, and the main purpose of this job is to assist with our son after school (2 pm) until we wind down for bed (6:00 pm). We would of course want our nanny to also engage with our 4-year-old daughter! But definitely someone who had a heart for significant special needs and a willingness to support autistic children. We need special help with diaper changes, bath time, and dinner preparation/support, as these are the most challenging parts of care. I have 2 boys. They are in school a few minutes away. I work full time. The boys are very smart and mostly well behaved. They respond to the person they are around. I am a very calm and relaxed person who is firm in what I say. So they are not very fussy. When their mom is around, she is very anxiety driven, so they are extremely fussy. My 5 year old knows no strangers and will talk for hours. My 2 year old is more reserved and shy, so he will take some warming up to you.
