A little bit about us

Hi everyone! We’re looking for a new consistent nanny/sitter for our 4-year-old son, Cal. We’re hoping to find someone who can become a special part of our family and stay with us long-term (ideally at least a year).

The schedule will shift a bit between summer and the school year, but we’re generally looking for afternoon help.

This summer, we’ll need help with camp pick-up (from either Goleta or Carp back to Santa Barbara depending on the week) and afternoons together — roughly 1:30–4:30.

Once school starts, we’re looking for 3–4 afternoons/week for school pick-up, after-school activities, and play.

A little about Cal — Cal is a super imaginative, fun, sensitive 4 years old. He loves pirates, building things, exploring outside, climbing trees, making up stories, and turning just about anything into an adventure. We’re looking for someone who loves that part of him and wants to jump in, be silly, play along, and encourage his creativity.

He’s also a sweet, sensitive kid who does best with someone who is warm, patient, and can balance fun with gentle boundaries.

A few things that are important to us:

**Someone who genuinely enjoys playing and engaging with kids
**Active and loves being outside
**Reliable and comfortable driving (clean driving record is a must)
**Interested in building a long-term relationship with our family
**Spanish speaking/bilingual would be amazing, but not required
**Great references

Our older children attend a Montessori preschool from 8:45-3:00 every day. During this time, we will primarily need helping hands for our new baby and around the house (light housecleaning, laundry, meal prep, etc). After school, our older children love going on adventures to the beach or the park, riding bikes in our driveway, doing art projects, and playing all kinds of imagination games. We would like to find someone is excited to engage with them energetically, creatively, and lovingly during the hours they are home. Around 5:30 every day, we start our dinnertime-bathtime-bedtime routine.

We love teaching our children about different cultures and we speak both French and English at home. The values that are most important to our family are kindness and respect, and we are always encouraging our children to be kind and respectful to others, to themselves, and to all of the creatures we share our world with.
