A little bit about us

Hello,

Me and my husband are relocating to Portland, Maine and looking for a full-time nanny for 8 hours a day 3-4 days a week (could possibly be 5 days) as we are both nurses. My son is 3 and has no special requirements or needs. Just to be loved and cared for! We will be relocating to a house with plenty of yard space for him to play outside too. He requires just light meal prep (chicken nuggets and fruit is his whole diet basically). Occasional light house work may be needed but no pressure in this area. He is currently working on potty training and prep for pre-school. We are looking for a kind, engaging nanny who will be willing to do fun activities such as painting and other stimulating pre-school activities with our son while we are at work.

I am looking for a nanny starting in May for my daughter, who will be 6 months in May. She's a sweet baby and I just need a little help with her as I return to work. I work from home but promise not to hover. Open to a nanny share, and flexible about hours.

We have a dog and need someone who is good with dogs as ours is a sweet but skittish rescue.

Part-Time Nanny Job: The Caruso Family with 2 Children

We have two happy, energetic girls: Rowan (4) and Mara (17 months).

Rowan is an energetic, expressive, and loving four-year-old. She is very active and loves to move her body, and is unusually extroverted - she is always trying to make new friends or see what other people are doing. She loves dance class, swimming, and spinning around just for fun. She has been working on an expressive speech delay for a couple years, and sees a speech therapist at school twice a week. Most of all, Rowan is extremely affectionate and is always giving hugs to family, friends, and sometimes strangers.

Mara is very curious and busy, and moves fast! She is also very communicative, although most of her words are still babbling she is becoming increasingly intelligible. She's very interested in imitating grown-ups and big kids and is determined to be helpful. She's not as social as her sister but warms up to new people quickly and is overall a very happy and bubbly kid.

Our primary goal is to have someone to help look after the girls from when they get home from daycare (including pickup some days if possible) until they are ready to start going to bed (Mara typically goes down between 6 and 6:30). That may include playing with them around the house, taking one or both to the playground or an activity, or having them stay engaged near the kitchen as we get dinner ready.

We would love to also have a block of time (give or take 4 hours) at some point each weekend to allow us to get some things done around the house, as well as school days off (there are a lot) - we are very flexible to how this would take shape.

Both girls are at the same full-day daycare in North Deering right now (~15 minute drive from our house), although we are expecting Rowan to start kindergarten in the fall in the neighborhood, so that may involve different hours and slightly modified logistics for pickup (we may try to move Mara to a daycare closer to our house in the same timeframe).
