A little bit about us

Our 12 year old son has been living at a therapeutic boarding school for the past year and will be transitioning back home this summer. We have a village of helpers to make this transition successful. School will start the first week of August. Picking up from school and helping with homework or after school activities and keeping him on an afternoon routine will be our goal.

He is a funny and introspective boy. He needs time and patience as it takes him a while to answer questions. He is extremely literal. He enjoys outdoor sports so someone who is willing to play ball and get dirty sometimes. He gets excited by negative behavior which can get him into trouble. He needs redirection when getting off task.
We hope to find someone who has experience with and enjoys working and playing with teen boys who are on the spectrum. Great communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving, and emotional literacy will be crucial.
