A little bit about us

Three Sweet Boys once they’re comfortable.

I have three toddler boys, so yes, they are at that handful stage . Two are five years old (twins) and my youngest is three years old. I need some help every now and then when me and my husband may want to go out together or some days when the daycare they attend is closed and we both work. My children are sweet when they warm up to someone but definitely need some guidance and patience because they are stubborn. We are currently working on the youngest being potty trained and them being more comfortable speaking to where it is understandable to others. They are a challenge but they are not hard to watch, especially when doing things that will keep them entertained. So basically I need help from someone who likes a challenge and keeps a great spirit. If this is you.. We would love to meet you! Feel free to message me.

I have a 3 year old son and a 1-year-old daughter. I am looking for interest to help as needed basis only with the children. A nice way to earn some extra money. Depending on home child may be able to stay in a care facility or sitter home as long as there is updated photos and videos. This can be discussed further. Light cleaning and knowledge and experience on how to work with an injured child or a child that is sick. Must have your own transportation. I would like for candidate to be CPR/first aid certified. This is on an at needs basis only! Days do change due to daycare and schooling schedule. So, you will be notified in a 24-hour notice. At this time my one-year-old daughter is only needed for care. If anything changes you will be notified. Candidate also needs to have availability late evenings as needed for events and date nights on the weekends TBD.

Types of Nanny Jobs and Nanny Responsibilities in Chicago, IL

Before you start looking for a nanny job, it's essential to learn about the different types of nannies and how they compare to each other so that you make sure you’re looking for the right opportunities.

The different types of nanny jobs have different nanny responsibilities. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. However, in general, a nanny is responsible for making sure the children's needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to make sure your expectations are aligned with the family.

There are temporary nanny jobs, even seasonal nanny jobs like summer nanny jobs. Beyond seasonal and temporary nanny positions, there are differences between full-time and part-time nanny jobs. The primary difference being the number of hours you spend at your nanny job every week. For full-time nannies, there are options for live in nanny positions and live-out positions in Chicago. Live-out positions are more common, but each family has their own set of needs that require different types of care, and live in nanny positions can be exactly what some families want. If you're looking to explore live in nanny positions , it's even more important to create a shared set of expectations around hours, responsibilities, and what is expected of you when you're not on the clock.

How to Interview for a Nanny Job in Chicago, IL

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a nanny job interview. Here is a list of some nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What do you think children like best about you?
  • What kind of activities will you do with children this age?
  • How do you handle problems that arise behaviorally and emotionally with kids this age?

Beyond answering questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
