A little bit about me

I was a registered nurse for 12 Hiyears and the reason why I went into nursing school was so that I could work OB. I love working with new mothers and babies but I also love working with children that are up to the early school years. And the reason why I like that so much is that I love doing arts and crafts , reading stories and being outside and playing with them. and have a garden together so that we can plant things and have it for supper one night to surprise Mom and Dad what we had grown out in our garden. I love to play games makeup new games, for the kids to have imaginations that are set free. I like to invent things children like to do that kind of thing as well. I have about 50 honorary grandchildren and most of them go to church with me. I wear hats when I go to church I'm the only one that does but I love to put an animal brooch on my hats and when they see me they come running to see if they can find the new animal and where it's hidden. I was a farmer from 2004 and still have a farm but it's a lot smaller than what used to be. And I love teaching children things such as Math Science and History and things that we do together and they not even realizing that they are learning but are just having fun. I was the Arts and Crafts director at VBS for many years and I always did something different. The year that we were studying Australia I showed up the first day with kangaroo ears that I made long kangaroo tail that I had on and in front I had this big pouch which was the purse and inside my pouch was candy so every morning as the kids came into assembly they got to reach into the kangaroo's pouch and pull out a piece of candy. Some of the people at church but I was a little crazy but I loved it and the kids seem to have a ball with it too. I love to invent things and with children when you say that you're going to invent something I always challenge them to help me think of ways to do it such as if we're going to have to be picking up toys in the...

Understand Babysitter Responsibilities in Trussville, AL

Before beginning the search for a babysitter, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a babysitter is the right choice for your child care needs. There are lots of benefits to hiring a babysitter such as getting the flexibility of having some more time for yourself or with your partner. When hiring a babysitter, first, you should explore the differences between a nanny and a babysitter. If you’re looking for occasional child care, babysitters are the right choice for you, but if you’re looking for more frequent care, a nanny may be better for your needs.

From there, you can think about what you expect your babysitter to handle so that you can create a profile for nannies to reach out to you. The boundaries for babysitters’ duties can vary from family to family. However, in general, a babysitter is responsible for making sure your kids’ needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example to housekeeping, laundry, or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your babysitter before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location in Trussville can impact how much you pay your babysitter.

Trussville Babysitter Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective babysitters, the next step is to conduct an interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some babysitter interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a babysitter?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open and comfortable doing?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Alabama?
  • Do you have a Alabama driver’s license? Do you own a car?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a babysitter that you’re considering hiring, make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your babysitter. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around babysitter responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!

And of course, as you learn how to hire a babysitter, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
