I am a mother of a 4 month old and have years experience of taking care of children in my family, and children of my friends.
I hope to share my time taking care of my daughter with another child. I know how hard it is to find a trustworthy person for a decent price to help out with kids, which is one reason I feel I can help a family who might need that.

I come from a large family with lots of children, so I've been taking care of kids, usually ages 10 months to 5 years old, all my life. I love working with kids and watching them grow and learn. I hope to some day be a elementary school teacher, and am currently going to school for my teaching degree. I am available weekdays from 4 pm til whenever, and weekends 1 pm til whenever.

Hi! My name is Morgan and I am passionate about working with kids. I have an educational background of Early Childhood Development classes and am currently in school (night and online classes) to become an elementary school teacher. Being a nanny is really rewarding! I love to watch children learn and grow and know that I am a part of that! Aside from caring for children, I will do anything to help make your life as parents easier. We are a team that will work together to give your child the best quality care and have fun while doing it!

I have been taking care of kids ever since i was a 12 years old. I've had to care for infants all the way to pre-teens which tends to be a bit more challenging. I've always loved taking care of babies and toddlers and have the most experience caring for this age group. I've had to deal with everything from child-parent separation to potty training to weening a child off a bottle and pacifier. I definitley feel that my strengths are with younger children. I have also worked overnight and have gone on trips with the families I have cared for.

I was just with a wonderful family for 3 beautiful girls. I picked them up from school; feed them lunch, snacks and dinner. I would help out with homework and even helped out with one of the children with homeschooling. We played a lot, the more active they are after school the better because then they are calm and comfortable when it’s time for homework, dinner and bath time. I loved reading out loud to the girls and we would go to the library every two weeks. Playing at the park, going to soccer, basketball, chess club, piano, ballet and tumbling were some the activities I would take the kids to during the week. Being on time for myself as well as having the kids know it is really important to be on time for others is something we worked on together. I love art, so crafts were a wonderful way to get them excited to do something fun and creative. I enjoy being with children one on one; it’s a fun way to see their imagination go wild.

Understand Babysitter Responsibilities in Martinez, CA

Before beginning the search for a babysitter, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a babysitter is the right choice for your child care needs. There are lots of benefits to hiring a babysitter such as getting the flexibility of having some more time for yourself or with your partner. When hiring a babysitter, first, you should explore the differences between a nanny and a babysitter. If you’re looking for occasional child care, babysitters are the right choice for you, but if you’re looking for more frequent care, a nanny may be better for your needs.

From there, you can think about what you expect your babysitter to handle so that you can create a profile for nannies to reach out to you. The boundaries for babysitters’ duties can vary from family to family. However, in general, a babysitter is responsible for making sure your kids’ needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example to housekeeping, laundry, or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your babysitter before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location in Martinez can impact how much you pay your babysitter.

Martinez Babysitter Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective babysitters, the next step is to conduct an interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some babysitter interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a babysitter?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open and comfortable doing?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in California?
  • Do you have a California driver’s license? Do you own a car?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a babysitter that you’re considering hiring, make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your babysitter. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around babysitter responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!

And of course, as you learn how to hire a babysitter, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
