I worked with a family for about seven years who provided foster care for children, so in working with that family I sometimes had 4+ children ages ranging from 1-13, so I work really well with multiple children and I really know how to multitask and be able to show attention to many children. I also did some other babysitting with people who had heard recomendations of me. As far as Nannying, I have been with two families. The first for a little over 3 years, I only left because there weren't enough hours. I'm still very close to that family and adore them so much. The second I was with for over a year and am still very close to the family.

I have been working taking care of children for over 4 years, during this time I worked with different children's ages. Currently I'm taking care of two kids, the ages are 1 and 3 years old, and my work resumes to help them with everything since wake up in the morning, give them breakfast, get ready for school, pick up them from school, play with them, give them shower, change diaper, cook for them, feed them, put to bed, and whatever they need from someone who takes care of them. Always trying to be very careful because they need a lot of attention since they are little kids, I started to take care of the little one he was 2 months old, so I tried to give them many love and affection I could. I also worked taking care of two boys which the ages were 5 and 8 years old, I used to wake up with them, get them ready for school, give them breakfast, drive them to school, pick them up, drive them to extra activities, cook for them, give them dinner, give them shower, put them to bed, play with them, and I took care of them for 1 year, they were very good boys and they helped me with my English and also they taught me a lot, was a good experience. During this time I tried to make them trust in me and think I was there to help them with whatever they needed trying to give them attention and love. What I was taught by my family and I always try to do with the children I take care is give as many attention as possible, love, caring, and understand what they really need and what is the reason for the way they act, children always know what they need and what they are looking for in someone to take care of them.

I started my experience as an au pair in the U.S. working for one whole year in Seattle, taking care of two adorable twins. When I first got there they were 1 and a half, and I took care of them until they were two and a half. I had to leave them when I decided to come to Georgia, but we've always had a great relationship, and I really miss them. I used to stay with them alone the whole day long, always taking them to the park, or to the beach and making play dates. We use to have a lot of fun together. Since I got here in Georgia, I worked for 6 families. The first one I took care of two boys, 3 and 5 years old. Unfortunately, It didn’t work out because I needed more hours than they were offering me. The second family I took care of 2 years old twins , girl and a boy, and also new born ( born when I was already working there). It didn't work out for too long, I wasn't happy in their environment, and couldn't make the kids happy a place I didn't feel comfortable. After that I'm worked for two different families, one on mondays and wednesdays taking care of a 7 months old baby girl and another family on tuesdays only taking care of a 7 months old boy for a little while, until I started a housecleaning business with my mom. The money was very good on the beginning but then wasn't enough and I started babysitting again for an extra money. I babysit for a Brazilian family for over a year, but after the husband lost his job they couldn't afford me for much longer, since I used to babysit for 20 to 30 hours a week, taking care of two lovely girls, lyla was 6months when I started and Hannah was almost 3. Now I babysit 2 boys every Thursday night, so the parents can go out for dinner once a week. I ve been working for them for a year and a half alreay. When I started Brandt , the little one, was 4 months old, and Trent 2 and a half. I love them, and would love to find another extra but manage to keep them too. Besides, before coming to US I also did some babysitting and worked as a private teacher. I used to give particular classes for kids who needed to improve in school. It means that i always liked to be around kids and work with them.

I grew up babysitting to earn money beginning at the age of 12. I am currently an elementary school teacher and I have been teaching for the past 5 years. I taught 2 years of 5th grade and 2 years of 3rd grade. I am currently teaching students with autism. My sister had triplets in May so I also have a lot of experience with multiples/infants.

Understand Babysitter Responsibilities in Sandy Springs, GA

Before beginning the search for a babysitter, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a babysitter is the right choice for your child care needs. There are lots of benefits to hiring a babysitter such as getting the flexibility of having some more time for yourself or with your partner. When hiring a babysitter, first, you should explore the differences between a nanny and a babysitter. If you’re looking for occasional child care, babysitters are the right choice for you, but if you’re looking for more frequent care, a nanny may be better for your needs.

From there, you can think about what you expect your babysitter to handle so that you can create a profile for nannies to reach out to you. The boundaries for babysitters’ duties can vary from family to family. However, in general, a babysitter is responsible for making sure your kids’ needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example to housekeeping, laundry, or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your babysitter before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location in Sandy Springs can impact how much you pay your babysitter.

Sandy Springs Babysitter Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective babysitters, the next step is to conduct an interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some babysitter interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a babysitter?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open and comfortable doing?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Georgia?
  • Do you have a Georgia driver’s license? Do you own a car?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a babysitter that you’re considering hiring, make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your babysitter. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around babysitter responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!

And of course, as you learn how to hire a babysitter, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
