A little bit about me
In high school I graduated with the National Honor Society award. I enjoy school and acquiring knowledge. I currently am out of state attending my first year at the University of Kansas and majoring in Business Administration. I have worked in the Restaurant Industry for 3 years helping my Mother run her restaurant.
I have help take care of my younger brother and many cousins at the age of 13 and continuing. Im familiar with the responsibility when taking care of someone’s child. Taking them to after school activities, making sure they have the proper food, helping them with their homework, and getting them ready for bed. I also understand tidying up and cleaning around the house as parents love to come back to a clean home after a long day.

A little bit about me
I have always worked with children and would love to work with a family again this summer! Throughout high school, I worked in an infant classroom at a daycare and as a camp counselor for children aged 5-10. In college, I served as a lifeguard at several summer camps and taught swim lessons to young children.
Please let me know if you have any questions and I would be more than happy to answer them! :)

A little bit about me
I have more than eight years of babysitting experience with children ages 0-10, one year as a part time nanny for a family with three busy little boys (5, 8, and 10yo), and after this summer, three years as a camp counselor (ages 7-16/17).
Ideally, I’d love to find a family with younger children, but I am perfectly comfortable with any age. I am hoping to work a full time schedule, so I am available for school pickup/drop off. At my current nanny job, I am also responsible for taking care of a young dog, as well as light housework and very open to doing the same in another position.
My earliest availability for work is the last week of August (8/24), I work as a Program Lead at a YMCA camp in Kansas so I will be busy with that over the summer.
Thank you and have a lovely day,
❤️Sierra

Understand Babysitter Responsibilities in Lawrence, KS
Before beginning the search for a babysitter, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a babysitter is the right choice for your child care needs. There are lots of benefits to hiring a babysitter such as getting the flexibility of having some more time for yourself or with your partner. When hiring a babysitter, first, you should explore the differences between a nanny and a babysitter. If you’re looking for occasional child care, babysitters are the right choice for you, but if you’re looking for more frequent care, a nanny may be better for your needs.
From there, you can think about what you expect your babysitter to handle so that you can create a profile for nannies to reach out to you. The boundaries for babysitters’ duties can vary from family to family. However, in general, a babysitter is responsible for making sure your kids’ needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example to housekeeping, laundry, or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your babysitter before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location in Lawrence can impact how much you pay your babysitter.
Lawrence Babysitter Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective babysitters, the next step is to conduct an interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some babysitter interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a babysitter?
- What sort of household tasks are you open and comfortable doing?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Kansas?
- Do you have a Kansas driver’s license? Do you own a car?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a babysitter that you’re considering hiring, make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your babysitter. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around babysitter responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!
And of course, as you learn how to hire a babysitter, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
