I have volunteered in my church's infant nursery once per month for 4 years. I worked for a clinical home care organization and I had a 2 year old client with a severe genetic disorder and a 21 year old client with a basal brain stem lesion. I believe that these two disabled clients have set me up to be a great nanny for any child. I nannied for a family with three boys and one girl (ages 8,6,5, 9 month girl). Then I worked for a family with a 12 and 10 year old boys where I shuttled to school and helped with homework. The third family I am worked for had a 4 year old boy and 2 1/2 year old girl. I was with them for 2 years and the mom decided to stay home. My next job started in July 2009 and lasted through Dec 2009. The family had two children ages 4 1/2 and 1 1/2. I drove them to many activities and also participated in them, did many creative projects, prepared meals and observed naptime. The mothers hours were cut back at work and they decided to let me go. I then worked Jan- Feb 2010 with a family of 3 kids, ages 6(boy), 4 1/2 (boy), and 3 (girl). This job was short in duration because the mother decided to cut her working from home hours to less than what I needed to work. Currently, I watch one adorable little boy. I have been with him since he was 12 weeks old and he is not 16 months. My husband and I just relocated to Waconia, MN from Eden Prairie and it doubled my drive time to work so I am hoping for a job that is closer to home.
