"Kaylie was absolutely amazing! She always showed up on time, and if traffic was bad she would always send me a heads up text. She would help my kids with their colors, letters, writing, reading, etc. She would always help with extra if I needed her too. Such as, dishes, laundry, tidying up and more. My kids loved her and we are so lucky to have her as our nanny for a little while! Unfortunately, our needs changed so we no longer needed a nanny, but we still use her anytime we need a sitter. Anyone who gets the chance to have Kaylie as a sitter or nanny, your kids are in amazing hands!!"

A little bit about me

Hi my name is lisbeth but go by Liz, and I speak two languages: Spanish and English fluently.I’m a student at the Ohio university majoring in exercise physiology on a pre-med track. I enjoy spending most of my free time running, reading, and hiking. Most of the time, look after my 2 year-old nephew , and on occasion, I look after my younger relatives. I'm usually pretty organized, but I'm also dependable. I’m perfectly okay with light housework and preparing meals and changing diapers . I love kids and getting to spend time with them. I enjoy working with kids and take it very responsible.

I’ve nannied for one family recently the past year in 2022, and the year before that I worked as a preschool teacher with 24 3 year olds, with a ratio of 1:12. I grew up with kids my entire life babysitting friends kids and my own little brother because there’s a 14 year difference between us! Crazy I know! I come from a huge family with 10 brothers and 4 sisters, I have a huge passion for children and love them so very much just as my own!! I’m cpr and first aid certified of all children, babys, and adult! I know how to cook very well, and don’t mind picking up around the house or helping with anything needed!! I’m very energetic and charismatic! I would love to become apart of someone’s family and helping shape the mind of there little one(s)!!!

Understand Babysitter Responsibilities in Dublin, OH

Before beginning the search for a babysitter, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a babysitter is the right choice for your child care needs. There are lots of benefits to hiring a babysitter such as getting the flexibility of having some more time for yourself or with your partner. When hiring a babysitter, first, you should explore the differences between a nanny and a babysitter. If you’re looking for occasional child care, babysitters are the right choice for you, but if you’re looking for more frequent care, a nanny may be better for your needs.

From there, you can think about what you expect your babysitter to handle so that you can create a profile for nannies to reach out to you. The boundaries for babysitters’ duties can vary from family to family. However, in general, a babysitter is responsible for making sure your kids’ needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example to housekeeping, laundry, or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your babysitter before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location in Dublin can impact how much you pay your babysitter.

Dublin Babysitter Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective babysitters, the next step is to conduct an interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some babysitter interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a babysitter?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open and comfortable doing?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Ohio?
  • Do you have a Ohio driver’s license? Do you own a car?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a babysitter that you’re considering hiring, make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your babysitter. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around babysitter responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!

And of course, as you learn how to hire a babysitter, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
