A little bit about me

Hello! I am a reliable, hard-working, compassionate, and supportive care giver. I love being active and creative!
I worked in a daycare before becoming a nanny to a sweet little boy with special needs for nearly two years. I've spent the last year working with daycare children in California but am moving back home to Ohio.

A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Paradise! I am college student residing in Columbus studying English and Journalism at Ohio State. I am hardworking and detail oriented. I've always enjoyed working with children ever since I became an aunt at the age of 13. I have personal experience with childcare from nannying my 3 nieces ( currently ages of 2,3,7) and nephew (5), which I did full-time during the start of the pandemic in March and continued until I had to return to Columbus for school. I also have professional experience from working in a school/daycare setting (A school for Early Childhood development, children 5 and under) for about 1 year. I am open to part-time or full-time nannying. I went through a childcare training course for my previous job at the school, but I am also planning and willing to get officially CPR and First Aid Certificated if requested.

- I have received the COVID-19 vaccine and can provide vaccination card upon request.

A little bit about me

Hi families! My name is Juliet and I come from a big, loving family, so being around kids has always been a natural part of my life. I spent 2.5 years working as an assistant art teacher, which gave me the chance to guide kids through creative projects, help them express themselves, and (of course) clean up plenty of glitter and paint!

Outside of teaching, I’ve worked in different education and community roles, right now I help middle schoolers think about their futures and explore careers. I’m very community-oriented and love finding ways to encourage and support young people as they grow.

I’m also a very creative person: I write, I do poetry, and I enjoy all things artsy. I like bringing that creativity into childcare whether that’s making up stories, doing crafts, or just finding fun ways to keep kids engaged and learning.

I’d love the chance to bring my creativity and experience into your home to support your little ones!

A little bit about me

Hi! 😊 My name is Klára, and I’m a 23-year-old experienced nanny with a passion for creating a fun, safe, and enriching environment for children. I’m highly organized, love doing all kinds of creative projects with kids, and enjoy spending time outdoors.

I worked as an au pair in multiple countries, from newborns to 10-year-olds, and have had the joy of being part of amazing families in:

Sweden – Two wonderful girls (6 & 10 years old)
USA (Virginia) – A sweet baby boy (7 months old) & his energetic 3-year-old brother
Czech Republic – An adorable 8-month-old boy
USA (Columbus, OH) – A newborn baby boy & a fun-loving 4-year-old girl; later, an 8-month-old girl
USA (New York) – Three amazing sisters (4, 6, & 10 years old)

I’m looking for a family where the nanny is part of the team—a home where we work together to create the best environment for the kids. I believe in open communication, mutual respect, and making every day full of laughter and learning! 💛

"Klára was a blessing to us. She is so amazing! We are still in touch with her and our daughters love her! We live in Sweden and have 2 girls. The time Klára was with us they were 6 and 10 y.o. Her tasks were to drive them to school, pick them up and do afternoon activities with our girls. Her tasks did not include cleaning but she still vacuumed every day, sometimes cooked for us, she folded our laundry every time she saw there was clean laundry to fold. When she went to wash her clothes she asked us if we wanted to wash ours also. Klara is very tidy and organised and she was a huge help to us in that also. She organised and cleaned our daughter’s rooms, sorted out toys that were broken, and organised the girl's closets. She communicated with us very well, we never had a problem. She gave us further notice when she had an appointment or needed to go somewhere. She never told us she couldn't help when there was an emergency. We would definitely work with her again."

How to Find a Babysitter in Columbus, OH

Nanny Lane is a child care website meant to help you find a babysitter in your area. Our child care services include background checks, PLUS, and payroll.

Understand Babysitter Responsibilities in Columbus, OH

Before beginning the search for a babysitter, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a babysitter is the right choice for your child care needs. There are lots of benefits to hiring a babysitter such as getting the flexibility of having some more time for yourself or with your partner. When hiring a babysitter, first, you should explore the differences between a nanny and a babysitter. If you’re looking for occasional child care, babysitters are the right choice for you, but if you’re looking for more frequent care, a nanny may be better for your needs.

From there, you can think about what you expect your babysitter to handle so that you can create a profile for nannies to reach out to you. The boundaries for babysitters’ duties can vary from family to family. However, in general, a babysitter is responsible for making sure your kids’ needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example to housekeeping, laundry, or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your babysitter before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location in Columbus can impact how much you pay your babysitter.

Columbus Babysitter Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective babysitters, the next step is to conduct an interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some babysitter interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a babysitter?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open and comfortable doing?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Ohio?
  • Do you have a Ohio driver’s license? Do you own a car?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a babysitter that you’re considering hiring, make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your babysitter. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around babysitter responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!

And of course, as you learn how to hire a babysitter, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
