A little bit about me…

I've been working at a daycare for the past year with my sister. We had infant through age seven and we taught them abc's all the way up to reading and writing. Our daycare wasn't a sit in front of the t.v. all day daycare. We really worked with the kids each day doing math, english, science, history, art and music. We would have culture days where we would teach them a few words of the language, customs of the culture and fun activities to go with it. There was also plenty of downtime for the children where they could just have fun. I believe it is very important for young children to be stimulated with learning at a young age as so much more of their learning seeps in.

A little bit about me…

I have never had a formal nanny job, but I have lots of babysitting experience, with children from newborn to middle school aged. The family I have been with the longest has 2 boys, 7 and 5, that I have watched for the past 5 years, so I have no trouble changing dipars, playing cars or watching spongebob for hours! I also have 2 other families I sit for occasionally when our schedules line up.

A little bit about me…

I am a college graduate with a degree in Business Administration but have been working in education for the past year and a half. Furthermore, I come from a happy family of 8 kids and have been working with children as far as I can remember. I held many babysitting jobs from as early as 12 years old and my first real job was at a children's program. I moved on from there to work at an afterschool care program for elementary age students and shortly after, a nannying position for a 3 and 5 year old girl. Through my year as a nanny, I spent over 40 hours a week preparing activities, meals, and providing transportation for the girls. I truly became part of their family and only left to leave for my college career. After college, I spent a year substitute teaching from pre-school aged children to highschool. I was then hired as a Special Education Instructional Assistant where I worked with elementary age children with varying degrees of austism and downs syndrome.
