A little bit about me
My name is Nermin Dawood, and I am a 19-year-old biology major. I was born in Egypt and then moved to the United States when I was 3 years old, but through my good luck, I have been able to visit Egypt three times since then. I am from a family of seven, including an older sister, a twin, and two younger sisters. We are close despite the gap in age.
Outside of school, I am actively involved in two youth groups through teaching: one with pre-K students and the other with 3rd graders. This is very rewarding work that affords me an opportunity to be a contributor to developing and educating younger members within my community. The interactions with these age groups have been a whole new perspective and deeper sense of responsibility. Taken all together, biology, cultural roots, faith, and community work form my background, which is responsible for whatever I am today.
