Since my mom is a preschool and elementary teacher I was always surrounded by children, as I grew older I became aware of the lucrative side of things so I babysat for many families and worked at a children’s museum in Colombia. When I finished high school I was determined to travel, I heard about the aupair program and without hesitation I decided that’s what I was going to do, by then I was only 18 but had no problem to complete the 2 year exchange program. One year in Connecticut, caring for 3 typical boys, active, full of energy and curiosity (2, 10, 13) and the next year I spent it in Philadelphia taking care of 2 wonderful kids, a 7 year old girl and a 3 year old boy. After that I moved back to Colombia to pursue an education, I studied psychology for the next 5 years and came to the US a couple summers and worked as a nanny, once I graduated I came back and have worked since for the same family caring for a 5 year old boy.

I am currently working for a family with two children aged: 2 and 1 years old. I have known the family for a year, but have been nannying on a full-time basis with them for about 7 months. Due to the state of the economy, and fiancial instability that the family is facing, I am actively looking to become a full time nanny for another family. I would be parting on good terms with the family that I am still employed with, would be giving them 2 weeks notice, and would still baby-sit for them from time to time. It is my wish to be paired with a family that is looking for a nanny to care for their children for at least a year, if not more. My duties at this time include: trips to the park/library, basic meals for lunch/snack, baths, putting the children down for mid-day naps, story time, singing songs, games, light house work, reviewing letters/shapes/colors, etc. I was employed as a full-time nanny during the school year of 08-09. My duties included the primary care of two children ages 3 and 5. I took the 5 year old to and from preschool twice a day, cooked simple meals(fed the children breakfast, lunch and dinner), did the children's laundry, kept their rooms cleaned, played games, sang songs, attended field trips and took the children to the park, movies, etc. I also have several years experience in preschool facilities as an assistant teacher ages infant to school age. I was a peer mentor in high school, I spent my junior year with third graders and my senior year with special needs teens. I love getting to watch children learn and grow and enriching their lives through learning and play. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions that you might have, I look forward to hearing from you.
