A little bit about me

I am currently employed as a Teacher at the West Side YMCA, certified in both CPR and First Aid. As a teacher at the YMCA Infant/Toddler Program, I am responsible for the day to day activities and care for children between the ages of 6 months to 2 years of age. I plan and implement age appropriate, educational activities to uphold our creed of learning through play. Prior to working at the YMCA, I was employed as a Head Teacher at a daycare facility, working in the Toddler classroom. I supervised, educated and played with a group of toddlers between the ages of 18 months to 26 months. As an opener in my facility, I also got to work with the 2’s, 3’s, 4’s as well as the infants and walkers. My range of experience extended from our youngest group of 6 week old babies and the careful care at such a tender age, to our older, preschool aged kids. Prior to working at the daycare facility, I also worked as an Assistant Teacher for a fourth grade classroom. I was in charge of creating daily lesson plans as part of the class’ vocabulary curriculum. Together with the teacher, we ensured that each child was progressing and developing to his/her own best ability. Prior to working with fourth graders, I also tutored and counseled middle school children from 5th-8th grade. I assisted with difficult subjects and assignments and helped with homework and other tasks. Working with children is a true passion for me. I strive to better each child academically, mentally and emotionally. To see the growth and progress of each child is the greatest gift I have experienced in my career, and I aim to continue to challenge myself and my children to reach new heights.

I believe I would be a great babysitter for your child. I have the experience of working with an array of children and taking on many different levels of responsibility. I can be entertaining and fun-spirited, and pretty much always have to be in order to keep the attention and interest of the age group that I teach. I sing...
