I will be relocating from Mexico with my 3yo son to study a PhD starting in September 2022. I do not have a definite schedule and therefore, am still uncertain about the amount of time that I will need assistance to care for my son, as well as all of my options. I can anticipate that I will be needing assistance Monday through Friday and maybe some weekends. My son is shy and highly sensitive and responds well to a calm and affectionate temperament. I am also worried about the language barrier because he only speaks and understands Spanish and therefore, it would be very helpful to find someone that speaks English and at least basic Spanish. I would like for someone to spend a few hours a day with him to care for him and take him to activities with other children to help him socialize and learn the language. We live in Cambridge on Dana St and Broadway St about a 15 minute walk from Harvard and Central t-stops. We are looking for full time help with guaranteed hours, at least 40-50 hours a week (typically 9-6) at $23-25/hour, vacation and sick time. We would like our nanny to be fully vaccinated and Covid conscious and able to withhold taxes. We are first time parents, and really hoping to find someone who is experienced with infants and infant developmental milestones — including sleep, feeding, and language/motor skills — during this first year.
The FT position would start in the beginning of January and continue through May 10th, with the possibility of staying on after that. Exact start and end dates are flexible. We have no other children or pets.
Hours/ Schedule: Mon and Wed 9am - 5pm / Tues and Thurs 9am - 7pm. Fridays off, or a half day, e.g. 9 - 12pm.
Location/ Parking: We live in North Cambridge, about 10 minutes walk from the Porter Square T stop. We have a guest parking spot in our lot for your use.

Responsibilities: Soothing, feeding bottles of pumped breastmilk (and introducing solids when the time comes), diaper changes, putting the baby down for naps, playing, talking, and singing with the baby, doing tummy time, and going outside on stroller walks.
Qualifications: Experience with infants and infant developmental milestones. Infant CPR and first aid. Current vaccines. Non smoker. Recommendations from former families or employers.
