A little bit about us

Hi, we have two kids that occasionally we may need a nanny to sit for both but we know we need a nanny/sitter on Mondays for our son alone. His name is Thorin. He turns a year old this month and with his sister in therapy in Fairhope on Mondays it is challenging taking her to her appointment while managing a one year old in a waiting room for an hour and a half. He gets to bored. We also would like a date day/night maybe once every month or so. So then we would need someone to watch both Thorin and his sister, Sora, for a few hours. Both love Mickey Mouse, Bluey, Little Einsteins, building blocks and animals. My daughter is on the spectrum so she isn't very vocal. Hence therapy. Neither are potty trained. We would prefer someone CPR certified/trained with good references and local to Fairhope. Perhaps someone who could watch them in-home at their place if that would be fine. On Mondays we need someone for our son from [phone number hidden]. Our daughter has therapy from [phone number hidden]. Sometimes that extends to roughly 12:15 PM. I could drop him off and pick him up no big deal.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Fairhope, AL? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
