A little bit about us…

I have a 2 year old girl, she is a ton of fun, very affectionate, loves being outside and playing all day. I also have a 2 month old boy who naps well and takes a bottle when needed. I am a stay at home mom/nurse and work a few hours a week from home. My husband will be deployed for 6 months starting in September so I am looking for someone to help a few hours a couple times a week so I can run errands without the kids and help keep them occupied while I cook. Ideally I'd like to be able to leave both kids for a few hours if needed, and have someone high energy to keep up with my toddler.

A little bit about us…

Hello! I am looking for a nanny to help care for my infant daughter while at work and also sometimes while at home to get some of those not baby friendly chores done. I will need a nanny that is willing to work with an infant in a house that has a loving, but needy, medium sized dog. I work in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Children's and will have an inconsistent schedule, working a mix of every shift at some point during the month (morning, afternoon, night, overnight, weekdays, weekends). I would need help 4-6 days a week just depending on the week. My schedule comes months in advance and we can discuss monthly availability rates rather than weekly rates to cover the schedule variability if desired.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Fultondale, AL? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
