A little bit about us

Job Title: Part-Time Nanny/Sitter (Weekday Mornings & Mid-Day Care)

Location: Airdrie, AB

Schedule:
• Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:00am – 11:45am
• Tuesday & Thursday: 8:00am – 3:30pm
• No evenings, weekends, or holidays

About Us:
We’re a small family with our very first baby. We’ll be honest—we’re a little nervous about leaving him with someone else, so we’re looking for a nanny/sitter who is nurturing, reliable, and understanding. We’d love someone who is patient, gentle, and enjoys helping little ones grow in a safe and loving environment.

Our Parenting Approach:
• Montessori-inspired learning (hands-on play, child-led activities, encouraging independence)
• No screen time during care
• Healthy, homemade meals (provided by us if needed)
• Focus on teaching independence through nurturing care

Responsibilities:
• Provide attentive, loving care and age-appropriate play
• Encourage independence through Montessori-style activities
• Offer meals/snacks (prepped by us)
• Maintain a calm, screen-free environment
• Keep baby’s areas tidy

What We’re Looking For:
• Someone who’s dependable and truly enjoys caring for infants
• Experience with babies is preferred (references are a plus)
• CPR/First Aid training an asset
• Great fit for an ECE student, stay-at-home parent, or someone looking for consistent part-time hours

Compensation:
Our budget is around $15/hr (negotiable depending on experience). Since the hours are consistent and family-friendly (no weekends/holidays), this could be a great steady side income for the right person.

What is an Infant Nanny in Airdrie, AB

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Airdrie, AB? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
