A little bit about us

Hello! We are in search of a nanny for our son beginning March 2019. He'll be 6 months at that time. We'd ideally like to nanny share with someone who lives close to us (Congress Heights, SE DC), but would be willing to also share with a family in Capitol Hill (that's where our 2nd grade daughter attends school). We are looking for a full-time nanny (roughly 830-530) who has strong experience with infants and their developmental needs (developmentally appropriate games, milestones, proponent of early literacy, provides structure and routines, and is very caring and compassionate). If this sounds like a match, we look forward to hearing from you soon!

A little bit about us

Just had a baby; returning to work as a therapist at 6 weeks postpartum; two older ones that won’t require child care; Monday-Wednesday 9:00 - 5:30, maybe some THU + FRI. Looking for another family and a nanny, with traits that include: flexible, thoughtful, and chill; we have dogs at our house and a housemate so it’s preferable that the other family host; we don’t mind helping with pick up and drop-off.

A little bit about us

My name is Alexandria, and my husband’s name is Cameron. We have three wonderful sons Cj, who is 14, Xavier, who is 12 years old, and Zachariah, who is just 2 months old. We live in Washington DC, where there are plenty of parks, shops, and fun activities to enjoy.

Our daily routine keeps us busy, but we always make time for family. I work as a social worker at CFSA, with my hours running from 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM. Cameron is a truck driver for Everfresh, starting his day early at 5:00 AM and returning home no later than 3:00 PM. Xavier is in school during the week and is usually home by 4:00 PM. Zachariah, being just a baby, will be the main focus of your care. He loves going on walks, being talked to, and interacting with those around him, so we are looking for someone who is energetic and engaging.

Our ideal nanny is someone who is not only great with infants but also active, patient, and trustworthy. Since Zachariah is so young, we want someone who will provide him with loving and attentive care throughout the day.

We truly value open communication, and we want you to feel comfortable as part of our family. If you ever have questions, need help, or just want to talk, we are always here. We hope this experience will be as wonderful for you as it will be for us.

A little bit about us

We need a nanny for our 3-month-old daughter in Washington, DC. We are looking to hire someone now for 20-25 hours a week for a minimum of six months. Duties would include light housekeeping related to keeping the baby's items tidy and organized. We are looking for someone to foster a loving environment centered on learning and creativity. We want someone who will read to our child and help them explore the outside (when it is warmer, lol). We want someone who we can trust like a family member. Must be comfortable with a small, yet hyper-friendly dog. The selected person MUST adhere to stringent covid safe practices because one parent is in a high-risk category.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Washington, DC

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Washington, DC

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Washington, DC? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
