A little bit about us

Aloha!

I am looking for a long term, reliable sitter for our infant in Haleiwa starting in April 2023 when she'll be 4 months old.

For any state/federal holidays and school breaks, there is the opportunity to pick up more hours with our 4 year old son and 2 year old daughter in addition to our infant. We would know the dates, at minimum, one month in advance.

If this seems to be a fit for anyone, please let me know!

A little bit about us

Hi, there! Our family will be in the North Shore for a month in Feb/March.

We have a 10 month old daughter and a 4 year old boy. We’re looking for someone to help with childcare while we’re at our rental house there. Ideally, someone with experience with both babies and preschoolers—someone who can keep our son engaged in age-appropriate play but could also help with putting the baby down for a nap or feeding her during meal time.

We would need care from 8am to 4pm Monday- Friday in our rental home. Work would include helping to tidy up after the kids after meal time or play time. Help with meal prep would be a plus.

We are flexible with both hours and pay for someone with the right experience.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Haleiwa, HI? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
