A little bit about us

My son is Huxley, 8mo, and my friends son is Avery, 5mo. We have older boys who attend the same school and are looking for a nanny care situation for the babies. Huxley is already crawling and pulling himself up on everything and is starting to balance when he stands. Avery is a rolling machine and is soon to catch up with Huxley!

We are looking for full time care 745am-345pm Monday through Friday. Each week would alternate who's house the care is being provided at but will always be with both the babies unless one family is traveling or a baby is sick.
Experience with twins or infants close in age is preferred and not required.
Experience with baby lead weaning.
Knowledge of safe sleep practices.
Experience in infant care required.
Knowledge of breastmilk procedures.
Wanting to take the babies out on outings a couple days a week. Looking for a beach day, hiking, and library reading time.

Must be comfortable around dogs as we both have a dog. Will not have to care for dogs.
Make healthy meals for the babies.
Wash dishes from babies and light pick up of toys at the end of the day.
Assist with light laundry if babies schedule allows.

A little bit about us

Our family is looking for a fun, caring, and reliable nanny! Our current nanny has informed us that she is moving on to a new position to advance her career in another field. While we are thrilled for her, we are in need of filling her role. We have three easy-going kids though the position is only to watch the youngest two (ages almost 3 and 6 months old). The older loves singing, dancing, arts and crafts, exploring the outdoors, riding bikes, etc. The little one is a happy, smiley baby.

Mom works from home (in an office away from you and kids) and would need anywhere between 28-32 hours of care per week. Tasks include light meal prep for the kids, feeding baby bottles, helping maintain baby’s regular nap schedule, and general tasks related to their care (aiding in clean up of toys, planning of activities, etc.). Care must be provided in our home on Marine Corps Base Hawaii, so reliable transportation to arrive here is a must. We can shift our Monday-Friday work hours to meet whatever set schedule works best for you between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. We have some flexibility, so please share what might work best for you!

Pay rate negotiable based on experience and credentials.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Kailua, HI

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Kailua, HI

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Kailua, HI? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
