A little bit about us

I have a happy 8 month old and I am looking for part time help during the week - ideally Thursdays and Fridays for the next few weeks. Baby loves playing peek a boo, chewing on her toys, trying to crawl, and taking contact naps.

Schedule: Thursdays and Fridays 9:30- 3 Starting May 11th.

Requirements: Experience with infants. CPR trained or willing to be trained. Dog friendly. Non-smoking.

Expectations: Looking for someone who is would enjoy actively engaging baby - reading books, playing with toys, singing, getting her to laugh, etc. We do not believe in “cry it out” and are looking for someone that will be highly responsive to baby’s needs. Looking for someone that is comfortable bringing baby to me to breastfeed when I am home and available. House is sometimes messy, but you are only responsible for cleaning up after yourself and any mess baby makes when you are together.

A little bit about us

Hello! I’m a new mom heading back to work in a few weeks. I’ve spent the last couple months in bliss with my bright-eyed baby boy.

As a creative director at an advertising agency, I have a busy schedule. My husband works in wealth management, and has more job flexibility to help with daily childcare.

We love road trips to Maine, beach days, movie nights and most of all - spending time with our new little!!

What is an Infant Nanny in Somerville, MA

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Somerville, MA? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
