A little bit about us
We are looking for a babysitter for help with occasional bed times and weekends.
Ideally, we are looking for individuals who are consistently available (students, retirees, etc). One of our daughters daycare teachers will also babysit when needed, but she has a full-time job already.
Our expectations are mostly entertainment, mild pet care such as letting the dog out and feeding the dog and cat if necessary, and bedtime routines. We do not expect anyone to clean up the house or do other chores except to tidy up toys with our daughter when play is over. We will sometimes need meal prep, but our expectations are simple meals or a snack.
Our daughter has a speech delay, and while she can communicate her needs, she can get frustrated if someone does not understand her verbal requests. We can give more details about that to those interested. She has about 50-100 words at this time.
Other than that, our daughter is a lover, drama queen, and high energy. She can certainly be sassy, but not mean. She likes to attempt to make everything a game, and we are okay with the sitters rolling with that. For example: she often protests having her hair put up or brushed. Sometimes it will become a game of chase and if I catch her, I get to brush her hair.
As you might expect, we are looking for someone who is willing to keep up with a high energy girl. As for our son, he is still home with Mom, but we will need him to be watched too when Mom goes back to work.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position
Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:
- What is your specific experience with this age group?
- Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Lake Ann, MI? Are you willing to be trained?
- How do you handle a crying baby?
- How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
- What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
- How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
- What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?
You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
