A little bit about us

We're the Jurevis family! My husband and I are looking for someone to care for our 10 month old son Jacob. Jacob is a very social, happy baby who loves dancing and being played with and read to. We need an energetic, fun and dependable loving nanny Tues-Thurs from 7:30a-6p and on Fridays starting at 9am. I work from home on Fridays so hours would vary depending on work flow but this person must be available from 9-4pm. We have a golden retriever named Bianca as well so you must be comfortable with pets.
Please let me know if you are interested!

A little bit about us

My husband is potentially getting offered a job where he will need to travel some of the month so I am looking for some help, probably starting in Feb/March ish. Maybe sooner for one day a week depending on when job would start. We have a little girl who is one year old and a baby boy on the way due in April.

Ideally we would like Monday and Tuesday and/or Wednesday as those would be the days my husband would likely travel. Probably 4-6 hours on the days working (about 10-15 hours a week) I would also be home as well most of the time. I am mostly looking for some extra hands especially during the postpartum period and then some time where I can take care of myself (go workout, have a shower, take a nap). We would like someone to help with the kids, light house work (tidying up, prepping meals, kids laundry maybe?), educational activities with the toddler, and someone who is able to help care for a newborn. We also have two dogs so some pet care as well (letting them out if needed, refilling food/water if you see they are out). Right now no expectations for driving, but could change depending on if nanny would like to take one of the kids out of the house for something fun.

Overall, looking for a way to have more of a "village" in raising my babies as it is rough out there!

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Darien, IL

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Darien, IL

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Darien, IL? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
