We are hoping for someone to be with our family for at least a year, possibly longer, but a summer-only position is also an option. Duties would also include light housekeeping and meal prep for the children. If you have experience with toddlers and elementary school-aged children, have reliable transportation with a clean driving record, are vaccinated, and are a non-smoker, please send me a message if you are interested in this opportunity.

Our children are a 6-year-old girl going into first grade, and a 3-year-old boy who goes to ABA therapy school part-time.

A little bit about us

We need a nanny for our 1 child in Saline. I work from home, but I often have impromptu meetings and am expected to be available throughout the day. My husband works a hybrid schedule and will be working from home part of the time as well. However, most of his days are taken up with back-to-back meetings. The person who is hired for this position must be comfortable working with us in the home during much of the day. Four days a week, I will require assistance from 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. However, I work one day a week in-office (Tuesdays). I will need coverage from 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. on those days. This person must have reliable transportation and consistent availability. We have an older 8-year-old child. However, this child will not require care. Our schedules are arranged so we are able to bring her to school and pick her up from school.

A little bit about us

We are looking for a nanny for our 3 month old son Monday’s and Fridays about 730am-530pm (end time could be sooner depending on when my husband and I finish up at work - he is a plumber and I am a nurse manager). We have a cat and a dog as well so someone comfortable with animals would be important.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Saline, MI

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Saline, MI

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Saline, MI? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
