A little bit about us

!

We are a loving family seeking a caring and dedicated nanny for our 3-month-old baby girl. We’re looking for someone who will grow with our family and be an important part of our lives as our little one begins to grow.

Key Details:
• Location: Walking distance to downtown Newport
• Schedule: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (flexible by an hour, give or take)
• Occasional Weekend Evenings: We may need someone for an evening shift on the weekend from time to time.
• Preference: We prefer to hire someone to be with our family exclusively (no other families at this time).

About Us:
• My husband works from home, and I work in an office three days a week, so we’re looking for a nanny who is comfortable being with our baby while we are around.
• We have two sweet and well-behaved retrievers, so it’s important to be comfortable around dogs.

What We Are Looking For:
• Newborn experience: We need someone who is experienced with caring for infants and understands the nuances of caring for a 3-month-old.
• Flexibility and commitment: Ideally, we’re looking for someone who is not just looking for a job, but truly invested in shaping the development of our little one.
• A caring, nurturing presence: We want a nanny who will create a safe and loving environment for our daughter to thrive in.
• Professionalism & Reliability: Punctuality and reliability are essential as we both have busy schedules.

Additional Details:
• We’re a warm and welcoming family, and we’re looking for someone who is easygoing and adaptable but also values consistency and clear communication.

If you are passionate about childcare and looking for a long-term position with a family that will treat you like part of the team, we would love to hear from you!

Please reach out with your experience, qualifications, and availability. We look forward to connecting with you!

A little bit about us

My oldest child (7) will rarely need care, he’s usually at after school and this summer he will be at camp. But he is smart, trustworthy. My middle child (4) is VERY hyper this is the main child needing care. He has a behavior IEP so he can’t stay in school a full day, his teachers can’t spend one on one time that he requires. Usually if you let him run around outside he is fine. That’s all he wants ALL THE TIME. He loves asking questions m, gives people complements, but he is really hyper active at times. My youngest child is 9mo he likes watching his brothers play, being in someone’s lap, and practicing walking and standing, a very happy smiley kid unless he’s sleepy. He loves naps.

As for care I am looking to have someone pick up my middle child from daycare at 1pm so I can finish my work day at 4. Mon-fri. Or on weekends for an hour or two to go to the park or home with toys on rainy days while I go to the gym.

How to Find an Infant Care Job in Newport, RI

If you’re looking for an infant nanny job, you’ve come to the right place! We can help you find an infant care job in your area. Start by telling families about yourself in your profile, and then chat with families to find the right fit. When you think you’ve found the right match, you can turn the discussion towards compensation and responsibilities.

What is an Infant Nanny in Newport, RI

An infant nanny is a nanny that specializes in caring for newborns. They are skilled in diapering and providing care for any rashes, swaddling, bathing, feeding, and burping. Some infant nannies further specialize in care for premature newborns or multiples.

Preparing for a Nanny Interview for an Infant Care Position

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is an infant nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this age group?
  • Are you Infant CPR/First Aid certified in Newport, RI? Are you willing to be trained?
  • How do you handle a crying baby?
  • How often do you usually offer parents updates during the day?
  • What do you feed an infant? At 0-3 months? 3-6 months? 6-9 months? 9-12 months?
  • How do you set up the infant’s crib for a nap?
  • What kind of activities will you plan to engage my baby?

You should be prepared with your references for past nanny jobs, and ideally, past infant jobs. Prior to the infant nanny interview, be sure to think about questions that you might have for the family. This is a great time to ask questions about the responsibilities and compensation for the infant nanny position. To make sure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities, we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
